Why might my lawyer be pushing me to settle?
Transcript
Your lawyer may be pushing you to settle because he honestly believes that it’s in your best interest, and under those circumstances, you should follow your lawyer’s advice. Sometimes lawyers push their clients to settle because they’re not litigators. They don’t go to court, and so if the case doesn’t settle, they have to refer the matter to a litigator like me. When they do that, they’re only going to receive a portion of the fee that I receive out of the recovery of your case. Almost always, the amount of money that original lawyer receives is less than he would have received if he had settled your case.
