When you’re in a car accident and your car is damaged, you are entitled to a rental car. Generally, you’re entitled to a car which is similar to the one you were driving at the time of the accident. Despite that, I would tell you that you should be careful when you’re renting a car because some insurance companies are going to pay only a certain amount per day and there’s not enough money to go to court about. I also want to caution you not to buy insurance. Your insurance that you have on your original car is still going to cover you when you’re driving a rental car. The other side will not pay for additional insurance.
