West Palm Beach, FL - Pedestrian Dies in Crash at Olive Ave & Evernia St

West Palm Beach, FL (January 24, 2024) – A man was hit and killed in downtown West Palm Beach on Friday, per local authorities. The victim was discovered lying in the road at the intersection of South Olive Avenue and Evernia Street, according to West Palm Beach Police Department (WPBPD) spokesperson Mike Jachles.

Jachles added that the 73-year-old driver of the vehicle involved stayed at the site to assist authorities. The victim, a 98-year-old man, was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene. A 73-year-old woman was also transported to a local hospital for assessment, though details about her condition are unknown. The inquiry is still underway pending the medical examiner’s report.
