North Lauderdale, FL (November 20, 2023) – Just before 1:00 a.m., a deadly collision occurred on the Florida Turnpike at Commercial Boulevard in North Lauderdale, closing the southbound lanes. Authorities have not yet announced a reopening schedule for the highways, and few details about the accident have been released. At least one person was pronounced dead at an area hospital after the incident occurred, though officers are continuing to investigate the crash at this time.
