Miami, FL – Tanker Rollover Wreck Causes Injury on I-595

Miami, FL - Tanker Rollover Wreck Causes Injury on I-595

Miami, FL (October 26, 2023) – Hours of lane closures and traffic delays occurred on Interstate 595 in Davie when several off-duty firemen came to the assistance of the driver of a tanker truck involved in a major rollover crash.

After the truck flipped over and caught fire on Thursday afternoon following a crash, all westbound lanes were closed around Nob Hill Road. The roadway was reopened to traffic by about 9:00 p.m.

Davie Fire Rescue, Hollywood Fire Rescue, and the hazmat unit from Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue all arrived at the site of the fire near the Nob Hill Road exit.

The gasoline pipes on the tanker, which was carrying garbage, had burst. The driver was heading west when the car suddenly veered, crashed into at least one other vehicle, flipped, and caught fire, according to authorities.

The total number of injured victims is unknown, but authorities continue to investigate.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families.
