Miami, FL – Officer Hospitalized After Hit-and-Run at Coral Way & 72nd Ave
Miami, FL (January 17, 2024) – A Miami-Dade police officer had to be rushed to the hospital Wednesday evening after being involved in a hit-and-run in the area, per authorities.
The incident happened on Coral Way and 72nd Avenue in Southwest Miami-Dade, and local news footage showed heavy damage to the front of the police cruiser. The officer was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect driver, identified as a 32-year-old male, fled the scene but was later arrested at his home. He’s been charged with leaving the scene of an accident, though an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the wreck is still ongoing.
