Miami, FL – Injuries Reported in Strip Mall Fire at 24th Ct & Eighth St

Miami, FL - Injuries Reported in Strip Mall Fire at 24th Ct & Eighth St

Miami, FL (January 10, 2024) – A fire broke out at several businesses located in a strip mall in Miami’s Little Havana area on Wednesday, January 10, and authorities say two people were assessed for injuries.

City of Miami Fire Rescue units responded to the scene, located at Southwest 24th Court and Eighth Street, on Wednesday evening. Officials said more than 60 firefighters reported to the site after fielding reports of a tw0-alarm fire that impacted four to five neighboring businesses, resulting in major smoke and water damage. How the blaze started remains unknown, but at least two people were reportedly hurt. Fire officials were still monitoring hot spots in the impacted area as of Wednesday evening, and an investigation remains ongoing in the interim.

Our thoughts are extended to the injured victims and their loved ones in hopes of their full recovery.
