Miami, FL – Four Hospitalized After Collision at 27th Ave & 167th St

Miami, FL - Four Hospitalized After Collision at 27th Ave & 167th St

Miami, FL (December 4, 2023) – The Palmetto Expressway ramps were closed on Monday morning due to a traffic crash that sent several people to the hospital, including a police officer from Miami Gardens.

At around 2:45 a.m. in the morning, Miami-Dade police were seen closing the highway’s exit and entry ramps near Northwest 27th Avenue and Northwest 167th Street. Footage from the Palmetto Expressway showed a police vehicle from Miami Gardens resting on the slope barrier wall, its front end damaged. The crash also severely damaged the outside of another black car. A police officer was one of four people who were sent to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital. An airlift was needed to transfer three casualties, one of which was the police officer. An investigation is ongoing, but no further details were released in the interim.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families. We hope for their full recovery.
