Miami Beach, FL - Two Killed in Collision at 172nd St & US 1

Miami Beach, FL (December 16, 2023) – Two persons were killed in a vehicle collision that occurred Saturday afternoon, December 16, in North Miami Beach, and local police were called to the scene.

The North Miami Beach Police Department reports that the incident occurred near the intersection of NE 172nd Street and U.S. Highway 1, and one vehicle collided with an FPL pole following the initial crash. The same car caught fire shortly thereafter. Traffic between NE 163rd Street and 172nd Street was restricted as EMTs and firefighters responded. Two people were eventually pronounced dead at the scene, and an unknown number of victims were transported to the hospital for injuries. An investigation is active and ongoing in the meantime.

We extend our deepest condolences to the deceased victims’ loved ones. Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of their full recovery.
