Lantana, FL - Woman Hit & Injured in Collision on Hwy 1

Lantana, FL (December 19, 2023) – A driver struck a Lantana woman on Sunday afternoon, December 17, and officials say that she is now in a north Florida hospital recovering.

The 21-year-old woman sustained serious injuries in the crash, including a broken pelvis, shattered femur, and several broken facial bones. The incident reportedly occurred at around 2:30 p.m. near Highway 1 in Lantana. The woman had pulled over to inspect her vehicle when another driver hit her shortly thereafter. Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol are investigating the collision and evaluating whether the other motorist was distracted. Police say citations may be pending at this time, but no further details have been provided in the interim.

Our thoughts are with the injured woman and her loved ones. We hope for her full recovery.
