Ft Lauderdale, FL - Woman Hit & Killed By Train at 10th Ct & 21st Ave

Fort Lauderdale, FL (December 2, 2023) – A fatal collision occurred in Fort Lauderdale involving a Tri-Rail train on Saturday morning, December 2.

At 10:15 a.m., police reported that a woman was killed when a train hit her in the vicinity of SW 10th Court and SE 21st Avenue. The woman, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, was initially hit and injured by a Brightline train. She was ejected onto the adjacent tracks by the impact of the crash and subsequently struck by a passing FEC train. The Tri-Rail train was safely stopped, and neither crew members nor passengers sustained reported injuries. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the incident in the interim.
